The Lipstick Tag

I saw this tag on Hayley's wonderful blog and I though 'Ooh I'll give this a go!"
Seeing as I adore lipsticks here are my answers :)
 photo DSC_8491_zps4869ffeb.jpg
(These aren't all of my lippies, just a few favorites to show you all)

How many lipsticks do you own?
Currently I own 16 lipsticks and 5 lip stains. It was a much smaller amount when I started blogging but alas Christmas & my birthday have been as well as a few paydays.. ;-)

What was your first ever lipstick?
Oh deary me, I can't quite remember, I'm thinking one of those gross lip palettes with the little brushes from Claire's Accessories?

What is your most worn lipstick?
For lipstick I constantly wear Revlon's Matte 006 which is a gorgeous deep red colour with a perfect finish. On 'normal days' I tend to grab a babylips or Revlon's Balm Stain in 'Honey' which is such a gorgeous colour.

What is your favourite brand?
Definitely No7 or Revlon, I do like Rimmel but only the matte finishes. I really want to splash out on a Mac lippy because they are the goddesses of the beauty counters. Hopefully it'll be soon!

What is your favourite finish?
Matte, all the way yes. I do have some sheer lippys and I need to branch out into them, however the one's I have tried I'm not too keen on.

What was the last lip product you bought?
The 3 shades from Collection's Gothic range, I just had to have them for winter! I love berry shades. I also treated myself to the new 'Pink Punch' babylips, not keen on the colour though!

How many glosses and balms do you currently have in your handbag?
I carry a lip balm wherever I go and normally the colour I'm currently wearing, sometimes there's more because I forget to take them out.

What lipstick do you wear to rock a red lip?
My favorite red at the moment is one of Revlon's matte finishes in number 006 Really Red but I hope Mac's Ruby Woo will soon be gracing my lips!

How do you store your lipsticks?
In one of the drawers of my make up box, because I don't have too many I tend to find exactly the colour I want quickly. Although I am thinking about the clear plastic holders for when I move to uni.

What lip products are you constantly lusting after?
I adore the look of the Lime Crime lippys (but what colour to get??) And I also really want to add my first Mac lippy to my collection, I'm thinking Ruby Woo?

Many of you have probably already seen this tag, so link me if you've done it yourself! I always love a good read :)

Summer Spree!

 photo DSC_8127_zps54d52aab.jpg
Oops I did it again!
Indeed I did, it was payday last week and I thought I would treat myself to some new bright nail polish after all the gorgeous weather we've been having. As well as that it was my grandma's birthday and I really wanted to get her something she would love. I bought her the brand, new out No7 mascara (not pictured, in the gold tube) which she did end up loving. There was also a promotion on if you bought 2 No7 products you got a free gift set, so guess who spent over £30 in Boots - eek!

So I ended up buying 2 Barry M polishes (the third was a free gift) in Passion Fruit and Strawberry, the free one was BLE? The No7 Stay Perfect polish was in Foxglove. I also picked myself up a Revlon Kissable stain for £2 cheaper in the shade Honey which is sooo gorgeous!
 photo DSC_8136_zps4bf8f09f.jpg
On to the free gifts, it was said everything together was worth about £30 and I am overall very happy with what I got :) In this cute little set I got a Tinted Moisturizer in fair (which is a little meh), Airbrush Away Primer, a full sized tube on their High Shine gloss in Coral Kiss, a sample of their Stay Perfect eye shadow I'm not exactly sure what the colour is but when on it's a gorgeous pale blue/purple shade full of glitter. Last but not least an Extreme Length mascara - I wish this was full size because it's amazing! I feel like it give the same effect of Benefit's Their Real but for a much cheaper price (which I hope to put to the test).

I've already worn Barry M's passion Fruit which is an unbelievably gorgeous shade!
Have you guys been shopping recently? I love reading haul posts ;)

Pink Ladies | FOTD

 photo DSC_8137_zps06eec1b6.jpg
I recently did a lovely eyeshadow look for work that I wanted to share with you all as I'm trying to get in to the whole 'I won't wear eyeliner everyday!' It was actually unintentional, I just meant for the look to be a nice pale pinky colour and due to my crease brush having a little black colour from the day before it transferred and darkened my look, but I liked it even more!

For the base colour I used my NYX jumbo eye pencil in Milk and the base shade was number 5 which I dusted all over my lid and the crease shade number 6 in this sleek palette (full of my favorite colours!!) which I put into my crease and blended outwards and down which is when the black transferred down.

Face
Real Techniques Buffing brush & contour brush
No7 Beautifully Matte make up base
No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation in Calico
Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer in Light
Rimmel Stay Matt Powder in Pink Blossom
Mac Mineralize Blush in Gentle

Eyes
NYX Jumbo Eye pencil in Milk for the base
Shades 5 & 6 in the Sleek Storm palette (5 on the bottom, 6 on the crease)
No7 Extreme Length Waterproof Mascara

Lips
Palmer's Cococa Butter Lip Balm
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Stain in 001 Honey Douche

I recently went on a little spree which included quite a few No7 products and a few balm stains from Revlon which I'm currently loving. The new mascara I bought seems like a perfect dupe for the Benefit They're Real mascara so look out for some reviews from me in the future! Also despite the 'look' not being what I planned, I absolutely love it and I may have to try and recreate this! :)

No7's Moisture Drench in Mulberry

(yes there are some teeth marks where I tried to screw the lippy back down and caught me teeth :c )
 photo DSC_7948_zpseeb49f5b.jpg
R.R.P - £9.50

This lipstick purely is amazing. My mum got given this No7 lippy and she offered me it and I was a bit like 'meh it's pink I don't really like it' and then Hayley mentioned in it a video on our collab channel and I thought, I need that! By the off chance I realized the lippy that was given was not only No7 but also this shade, dream come true! Since nabbing this I have just worn it constantly, it's become my new favorite shade besides from red. It's not normally a colour I would go for and upon trying it for the first time I still felt like 'oh good lord that looks terrible' but the shade has really grown on me.
 photo DSC_7947_zps0b3d15d7.jpg
It has wonderful pigmentation and when applying it feels more like a balm then a lippy which means no smudges AND it doesn't bleed! It really is a dream come true for me because I tend to stick to matte lipsticks. I will definitely repurchase this colour and maybe even a red to see if the quality is just as good! The lasting power is also very good, I do reapply after a few hours due to habit but I would give this around 3/4 hours which is pretty damn goood. (This post is so photo heavy but the colour is just gorgeous so it's okay!)
& this is what it looks like on!! (yes taken with my iPhone whoops)

Maybelline Color Tattoo's - Metallic Pomegranate & on and On Bronze

 photo DSC_7929_zps394591e5.jpg
 photo DSC_7930_zps55d5c275.jpg
R.R.P - £4.99

Why have I not picked these up before????? These are amazing! I've always been a little funny on creme eye shadows, maybe because I think they'll feel weird on my eyes. But damn I was so wrong. These feel so amazing on my lids, as if they aren't even their at all! I tend to apply these with my Real Techniques Detailer brush (until I get my eye shadow brushes) and they apply so well and smoothly, they almost glide along my lids.
 photo DSC_7933_zps25fe0095.jpg
For £4.99 each they are an absolute bargain, I want all the colours! These two I picked are Metallic Pomegranate and On and On Bronze but I've also been eyeing up the bright gold and smokey grey colour. They are beyond pigmented, even with the tiniest amount on the brush you get a great transfer to the lid meaning these babies are going to last me ages! I mean the swatches really show how gorgeous these shades are.
 photo DSC_7937_zps5beb5e9c.jpg
Although the colours here look very similar (on and on bronze being the bottom) I can assure you Metallic Pomegranate is a wonderful plummy colour and On and On Bronze being a gorgeous bronze colour that isn't too dark. I absolutely love these eye shadows, I can guarantee you'll soon see a FOTD with them very soon!

MAC Mineralize Blush in "Gentle" - Review

 photo DSC_7861_zpse4878131.jpg
 photo DSC_7889_zps6e8cf168.jpg
 photo DSC_7864_zps5017ba56.jpg
R.R.P - £19

First of all, how gorgeous is this colour??? I absolutely adore it - however if I'd have bought this for myself I would not of gone for this colour at first so I'm glad it was a present! My auntie has a habit of buying gorgeous pricey products she turns out not to like so in return me or my mum get them! (yay). In the pan it looks like a shimmery pink colour, however on the skin there's no shimmer and a soft pink colour which I absolutely adore.

I've seen from other reviews that it doesn't last as long as normal blushes (not that I'd know) but for me it lasts a full day at college or work and it looks wonderful, plus I don't need a lot of product so it's going to last me a long time! I'm so glad I got given this blusher, it's now a staple item in my daily make up, it's so gorgeous for casual everyday wear and it could be built up in colour for a night out!
 photo DSC_7866_zps12cef2a4.jpg
Look how gorgeous it looks just swatched! I am so in love with this product as due to the fact it's a mineralize blush I feel it melts right into my foundation and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb like some blushers I've had. I'm really tempted to whisk myself off to a MAC counter and buy myself another one! It does seem rather pricey at £19 but it seems incredibly worth it and wonderful as a nice treat!
And here it is on! As you can see it's a gorgeous pink colour that just sits nicely on top with my foundation and to me just looks perfect! :)

No7 Match Foundation - Stay Perfect

 photo DSC_0113_zpscd2cff82.jpg
 photo DSC_0111_zpse885cef5.jpg
 photo DSC_0115_zps8d6cb5ae.jpg
R.R.P - £14

Now I've been using this foundation for what seems like months now and I've only just thought to review it! One day I was in town with Tom and I just thought 'let's do it!' I was sick to death of buying foundations that despite being the lightest shade they were always too dark. So instead I got myself skin matched and it's been a love affair since then! For a foundation it is pricey (to me anyway!) but Boot's are aaaalways giving out No7 vouchers so I thought why not and I got this for about £12 at the time.

The bottle is quite big and I do have to say this has lasted me about 2/3 months? I asked the lady at the counter how often I would need to replace it and she said 3 weeks... ohhhh. I use a lot when applying too so I've no idea what she was on about! It gives really great even coverage but it doesn't look thick and cakey or make me look shiny (which is a nooono!) which I do like. I can apply it in a morning, wear it all day at college and be home around 5/6pm and it's still on.

One flaw for this with me though was that my skin is rather oily and I do prefer a matt finish. However there is the 'beautifully matt' version of my colour (which is the lightest!) the shade calico, which is around £13 which I think I might have to try when I run this bottle down. Since purchasing this I've been looking for a casual founation to wear to work but found that nothing works better than this shade wise so it is perfect.

After the lady had skin matched me she applied it and boy did I look a shade darker, I think some body needs to teach her to apply foundation because I actually had a foundation mark around my neck and cheeks, ugh!

My Everyday Make Up!

I've never shown you all my make up routine for every day so here I am, this was done for my collab channel of Paperbacks & Beautyfacts (find us here.) The video is very shaky (some silly movie maker effect oops!) and I do pop in and out of shot because I was more focused on the mirror. However I do hope you enjoy this, I really enjoyed filming it and I hope to re-film without the shakes and me in full shot for my own channel in a few months.
Enjoy!

How much is my face worth?

 photo DSC_7816_zpse992e3be.jpg
So it seems I've jumped on this band wagon too, apologies but it's such a good tag I just had to! I've always wondered how much I've spent on my 'everyday' look because I always seems to buy make up, every single payday I buy bits and bobs I never seems to use! However I'm glad I only have 2 high end brands in my everyday look and I can't afford other bits from them!

I've also decided to include my daytime skincare as it's something I apply before my make up!
 photo DSC_7806_zps9ae6d855.jpg
Skincare:
Clean & Clear Morning Energy Facial Wash - £3.99
Nivea Daily Essentials Day Cream (Dry & Sensitive Skin) - £4.19
Good Things Stay Clear Cleanser - £4.99
Soap & Glory's Super Eyes Eye Cream - £9
Nivea Daily Essentials Hydration Primer (Dry/Sensitive Skin) - £3.99

Face:
No7 Stay Perfect Foundation in Calico - £14
Collection 2000 Pressed Powder in Ivory - £1.99
Soap & Glory's Kick Ass Concealer in Light - £10 (I got it for £7 in the sale)
Mac Mineralize Blush in Gentle - £19 (present)

Eyes:
Collection 2000 Extreme Felt Liner in Black - £2.99
Benefit They're Real! Mascara - Magazine Sample normally £9.50

Lips:
Palmers Coco Butter Lip Balm - £1.89
MUA Lip Liner in Red Drama - £1
Kate Moss Rimmel Matt Lipstick in 111 - £5.49

I also use the Real Techniques Buffing Brush and Contour Brush which came in the Core Collection which I bought for £18.

Aaaand the grand total is.... £101.53!!
(Not including the MAC blusher or Benefit mascara.)

That has genuinely surprised me! I didn't think I actually spent that much on my face ever single day!! Thank goodness this is my 'normal' look which I wear for going out as well as everyday, I tend to change my lip colour but I don't have any high end Mac lippys so I'm all good there. I guess I spend a lot on skincare and foundation, but hey the products are perfect for me.

I loved doing this tag and if you've done it yourself link it below so I can see, I love to read them! :)

Benefit They're Real! Mascara - Review

 photo DSC_0118_zpse3d95243.jpg
 photo DSC_0119_zpsfb81e357.jpg
RRP - £9.50
Now when this month's Elle came out it wasn't just me that rushed to Asda to pick up a copy! I'm going to state now I hate that type of magazine, I love fashion but not magazines full of clothes that I could never dream of affording plus I don't actually like some of it. So I bought this magazine for the freebie, who cares, I bet lot's of us did! I've been after some Benefit make up for a while and I've heard a million and one things about how good their mascara is. Now I didn't want to pay full price at £21.50 and it turn out that I absolutely hate it so this was the next best thing!
 photo DSC_7724_zps446797e8.jpg
Before applying.
With nothing on they are quite long and curly anyway so I don't tend to curl them.
After applying.
As you can see the difference is amazing! My lashes are so much longer and they just look so much better! Plus I absolutely love the wand on this, is covers all of my lashes and doesn't clump at all which I hate. This is by far the best mascara I have used to date, I don't mind brands from Boots because they are affordable and make my lashes look good. However I think sometime soon I'll have to treat myself to the normal sized bottle of this Benefit mascara, it is amazing!
Have you tried Benefit's They're Real! mascara?

Real Techniques Core Collection - Review

 photo DSC_0070_zps6ea0ea76.jpg
 photo DSC_0089_zpsf9b82520.jpg
RRP. £21.99

I know this collection is so hyped up it's unreal and plenty of people that don't own them always say, are they really worth all that hype and money?? YESSS. They are so worth it! I have never really used make up brushes at all, especially not for foundation or powder but these babies have taught me differently. Make up now is just so much easier to apply plus I get much better coverage and I don't use as much foundation as I normally would when using my hands.

I got my set off amazon for the bargain price of £17 which they lower to now and again and I snapped these up just after payday! If you've seen my most current wishlists I have been lusting over these babies for ever so long, I just wanted them so bad. I knew they would be perfect for me at the beginning and when I get more into the whole full face expensive make up they would help me and beyond that!
 photo DSC_7721_zpsdf69bacd.jpg
They are perfect for everyday use and I also have my eyes on the eye shadow set once I start using my palettes a little more. One thing I have to love about these brushes apart from their super softness, is (for someone forgetful like me) on the back of the brush they contain the brush names and in this set you get the detailer brush, the contour brush, buffing brush and the pointed foundation brush. This set literally has everything I need for every day make up. The one thing I want next from this lovely make is the blusher brush!

If you don't already own the Core Collection and want to try them out I would full recommend!

Dainty Doll Blushers

you are my sunshine - my girl - paper roses
Whoops, more beauty products! I've been lusting after these blushes since hearing about them mentioned on dozens of blogs and I picked them up for £1.99... £1.99!!! (They normally retail at around £13.50?) Already when I opened the parcel the packaging was absolutely gorgeous, so much effort had been put into it. The actual product packaging is just simple black with lettering but I absolutely love it, so gorgeous and simple. I think it just goes perfectly.
I couldn't help myself and I bought 3, 2 powder blushes - 'You Are My Sunshine' and  'My Girl' and a cream blush - 'Paper Roses' (which I've never tried before so I'm excited!) These blushes are incredibly well pigmented. I tried the darkest pink yesterday morning and it's that well pigmented I had to wipe it off and reapply, it's such a deep shimmery pink! I still need to try the other colours properly but I'm ever so excited, the cream especially as it's not shimmery and just a block colour. Also with the blushers comes a gorgeous little mirror, ever so handy to top up with if need be!
I would definitely recommend these blushers.
They are gorgeous and ever so well pigmented.
Get yourself down to Fragrance Direct before they sell out!
