Mac or Art Deco?

Now I know there's plenty of people out there that love MAC lipsticks, I've read countless reviews myself about every red shade under the sun and finally decided to get one for myself. I was also bought a lipstick from Art Deco a couple of weeks later which was also in a beautiful red colour. I love both of these lipsticks, however they both have their pros and cons.

The MAC shade I bought is - Ruby Woo (matte) and the Art Deco shade is from the Dita Von Teese special range so I'm not entirely sure of the shade. Either way they both look fab on.

RUBY WOO
I love this lipstick purely because it's MAC and every girl needs to own at least one of these lipsticks in their lifetime. The colouring of this one in particular is gorgeous, it's a deep red that looks good both on the lips and in the tube, plus its smells amaaaazing. The best thing about this lippy is the shape, it easily fits in any purse and looks even better, the little bullet shape is probably the best selling point for MAC (in my opinion!). The only qualm about this lipstick is the finish. Now every lippy I buy is always in the matte finish because there's nothing worse than bleeding lipstick and I don't really like how shiny red lipstick looks on me. I normally get on with all matte finish lipsticks I buy, however this is just too dry!!! 

For example, if I'm wearing it to go out in, I'll apply it and then maybe half an hour later my lips are sticking together and even when reapplying it makes my lips stick. Even with lip liner and lip balm underneath it sticks like a bitch. But hey maybe it's just me and I can't get on with it? Still I wear it because the colour is too pretty to keep locked up in that little tube.

ART DECO

Now I am a little biased with this lippy as it's everything I've ever wanted (including the finish!). The colour is yet again a deep red, a little brighter than the MAC's Ruby Woo. The finish is incredible, unlike MAC it doesn't dry my lips out. It'll still moist on the lips for a good couple of hours and sometimes when out I don't even re-apply as the colour sticks for an age. The only qualm with this lippy is once smudged that's it. It's ALL over my face, meaning I've gotta be super careful when applying. I tend to wear this lippy when I'm going out with friends or drinking, the MAC one to me is more of an everyday lippy as it's not as bright. 

Both lipsticks are within hands reach on on dressing table, meaning I'm always using one of them. It just depends on the day. Both lipsticks retail at £15.50 (MAC) and around £15+ (Art Deco) meaning for me their both luxuries but both of them fab! 

I just don't think I could pick one as a favorite...

Seeing as I adore lipsticks here are my answers :)

(These aren't all of my lippies, just a few favorites to show you all)

How many lipsticks do you own?

Currently I own 16 lipsticks and 5 lip stains. It was a much smaller amount when I started blogging but alas Christmas & my birthday have been as well as a few paydays.. ;-)

What was your first ever lipstick?

Oh deary me, I can't quite remember, I'm thinking one of those gross lip palettes with the little brushes from Claire's Accessories?

What is your most worn lipstick?

For lipstick I constantly wear Revlon's Matte 006 which is a gorgeous deep red colour with a perfect finish. On 'normal days' I tend to grab a babylips or Revlon's Balm Stain in 'Honey' which is such a gorgeous colour.

What is your favourite brand?

Definitely No7 or Revlon, I do like Rimmel but only the matte finishes. I really want to splash out on a Mac lippy because they are the goddesses of the beauty counters. Hopefully it'll be soon!

What is your favourite finish?

Matte, all the way yes. I do have some sheer lippys and I need to branch out into them, however the one's I have tried I'm not too keen on.

What was the last lip product you bought?

The 3 shades from Collection's Gothic range, I just had to have them for winter! I love berry shades. I also treated myself to the new 'Pink Punch' babylips, not keen on the colour though!

How many glosses and balms do you currently have in your handbag?

I carry a lip balm wherever I go and normally the colour I'm currently wearing, sometimes there's more because I forget to take them out.

What lipstick do you wear to rock a red lip?

My favorite red at the moment is one of Revlon's matte finishes in number 006 Really Red but I hope Mac's Ruby Woo will soon be gracing my lips!

How do you store your lipsticks?

In one of the drawers of my make up box, because I don't have too many I tend to find exactly the colour I want quickly. Although I am thinking about the clear plastic holders for when I move to uni.

What lip products are you constantly lusting after?
I adore the look of the Lime Crime lippys (but what colour to get??) And I also really want to add my first Mac lippy to my collection, I'm thinking Ruby Woo?

Barry M's Lip Changing Wonder!

Let's just kick off with the fact that yes, it is bright green!

I remember picking this up with my mum months ago and laughing over the fact it was bright green and only a fool would wear it, little did I know that the lippy is in fact pink!! After reading the lovely Helen's review of it I just knew I had to get one for myself, I'm not a big pink lover but I've been after one for a while that wasn't too bright but not too light and as this changes with your skin tone I thought this would be the perfect one to try out.

It applies sheer with absolutely no green in sight and starts to develop straight away to the alkali pH of your lips, making the perfect pink lippy to suit your skin tone after around 30 seconds. This is perfect as the colour does last all day! You can keep applying to darken the colour but I ended up just applying a lip balm over the top and it worked a treat, it lasted all day with eating and drinking. Plus the transfer is incredible, my boyfriend hates colour on my lips because he doesn't like to kiss me with it, however this just stayed in place on my lips and didn't budge onto his, perfect! 

It also stains your lips which is perfect if you don't like to reapply, it was totally worth the £5.49 I paid for it and it's currently part of my everyday make up I love it that much. However I do wish it had a name, 'TMLP' is a rather odd name however it's a wonderful lippy.

Kate Moss Matt Lipstick in 107 // Review

I recently saw someonereview this lipstick and I just knew I had to have it! I adore my red lippys but I wanted something a little darker, more like a wine colour but not too purple (not yet!). This shade is perfect for just that! I paired it up with Rimmel's Lasting Finish liner in Black Tulip and they work perfectly together. The liner is a little darker but the lippy just blends in nicely.

Now I've tried 111 in this make and I love it, it's my every day red lipstick but I feel that 107 has taken the top spot! Now it is red but it's much darker and not as bright. I love to wear it with winged eyeliner or just mascara and despite being dark it stands out! The lipstick itself is moisturizing for the lips and it does last! Being at college I can't always top it up which I've found that my lips do dry out a little but the colour sticks so I'd say around 2 hours before I need to top up.

I love it because the colour just glides on to your lips and their just so cheap! As I'm fair skinned I thought the colour would look terrible but I think my skin tone makes it look just a little bit better. The lipsticks themselves smell divine, I'm not sure what the smell is but it's wonderful, I love wearing this colour and this make in general. I've never tried Rimmel lipsticks before but now I just want the full set, their amazing!

the lady with ruby lips

Everyone seems to be going mad for Kate Moss' lipsticks and I am part of that crowd! I love red lipstick, there's no doubt about it. However I disliked the fact all the ones I've bought have always been quite shiny and tend to rub off and make my lips feel greasy. So when Kate brought out her Matt collection as well as the normal collection I just had to get my mitts on one! 

The shade I bought was 01 and it goes on like a dreeeeam. Plus how gorgeous is the packaging! I just want all of them. Out of all the lipsticks I've bought up to date this is by far my favorite and the one I'm mostly likely to recommend. However I haven't bought a MAC lipstick yet so we shall wait and see!

What's your favorite lipstick?

MUA Lipsticks; Shade 13 & 6

Everyone seems to love MUA lipsticks and I can see why! They have a dozen lovely shades and their cheap, you could buy one and use it and decide you don't like it and you haven't broken the bank! They are a £1 each and they are wonderful colors, if you ever run out you could always afford to replace it. Two of my favorites I've got so far is Shade 13 which is the red one and Shade 6 which is the pink one. I think my next one my be along the lines of a purple if I can find it!

Shade 13
I have to admit, red is my colour. I feel as if it will go with most outfits I wear plus it really adds colour to my face if I don't wear eyeliner/eye shadow. It's such a wonderful colour and I would only buy an expensive red lipstick. MUA does come close to having fab lipsticks. They go on really well and are very moisturizing for the lips and yes you do need to reapply but isn't that the same as all lipsticks? The only pet hate and this is for all lipsticks is that this one tends to run quite a bit. Which is horrible, people tell me it's because I don't wear lip liner but on that subject I'm clueless.  You can pick up this lippy for only a £1 and I have to admit it's a right bargain! It's a lovely shade of red and for a £1 can you really go wrong?






I love it to the moon and back, it goes with everything and anything and once you run out you can always stock back up without breaking the bank which in my opinion is fab. Here is what it looks like on. Excuse my face, I'm really bad a taking photos of my lips.

Shade 6

Now on this lipstick is very pink and very shiny. But on a whim I though hey why not try a pink! So I did. This really is a lovely colour, I think it works best with neutral skin so powder/foundation and mascara and no eye make up, you could always mix and match and find out. It's a very girly pink this colour but it does look very nice on, it's definitely and every day colour you can just whip on and it doesn't smudge and look horrible say if you were wearing red. Like all lipsticks you have to reapply but with this one it doesn't run all that badly or dry my lips out so it's perfect! It could brighten up a very plain outfit if that was the look you was going for. I'll definitely be replacing this one after I run out! It looks really nice on in the picture below, I can't wait to try out MUA's other lipstick colours!

1. I sometimes regret cutting all my hair off, it's taking so long to grow back too.
2. I'd love to have dreadlocks and bead them but it would take an age.

6. If I could I would spend all my money on Paperchase notebooks. I adore them.

1. What beauty product can you not live without?
I'm not to sure actually, I mean I really love my extreme felt eyeliner but what I really adore and must have to say if my Soap and Glory products. I don't think I could select one item so I'll select the brand :)

2. What are you excited about next month?
Next month is my birthday which means I'm 17! No I am not taking driving lessons although I may be taking a CBT so I can ride a ped.

3. Your favourite current fashion trend is... 
I love tweed blazers, I bought a gorgeous one yesterday and I also love parker jackets, I also got one of them and it's lovely and warm.

4.What is your favourite pair of shoes pretty please?
I have so many favorites but I'll just say one. My babies, my docs :)

5. Can I have a picture of your favourite pair of shoes pretty please?
Why of course, I've had several pairs of docs including two black ones but I'll only give one picture :)

6. Why did you start blogging?I started blogging because I like writing, I like making memories of things plus I wanted a new hobby and well here I am and I'm so glad I started!

7. What are your plans for Halloween?I'm not too sure, I think I have a party to go to but I also have a gig and another party around there, so it'll be a busy period :)

8. Is it too early to be writing a Christmas list? Whats on yours?No way! I want everyone's christmas (who I know) so I can start buying presents. I'm so excited! I love christmas. I have an iPod classic and cherry red Docs and a MAC red lipstick on my list this year and maybe a ped if I'm lucky :)

9. Favourite musical artist from the 80's?
I love Mötley Crüe but there are loads of artists I adore from the 80's I couldn't name them all if I tried.

10. Would you rather listen to one song for the rest of your life or watch one film? Name the song/film!
That is such a hard choice because I love so many films and so many songs. I think it'd have to be a film of some kind. Maybe Pride & Prejudice or maybe one of the Harry Potter's or something completely different. Such a hard choice!

11.What lipstick shade is your favourite?I adore reds full stop. I do like other colours but I will always come back to red, it's the shade I'm willing to pay a little bit extra for because I know it's worth it. I have a MAC lipstick on my wishlist currently.
