tag! you're it

Yay! I haven't had one of these in a while, I love them because you get a little more info about the average every day blogger. I was tagged by the lovely Mia from MiaAlice who is a very gorgeous little lady, thank you!

Here are the rules again, my pretties!
 Answer the 11 set questions.
Set 11 questions for the 11 people you tag.
Mention the blog who tagged you.
Feel free to do this post yourself and drop me a link below, I always love seeing peoples answers!

Here are the lovely questions Mia set me!
1. What's your favourite trend at the moment?
This is a hard one because I don't really like to follow trends and I'm always behind. I guess you could say the trend of leather satchels. I'm quite behind with this one but I love my satchel!

2. What is your favourite shade of lipstick?
Red, always red! I think it's a gorgeous colour. I also really enjoy burgundy and deep purples  I'm way too scared to see if I could pull either off though.

3. What beauty product do you regret purchasing most?
I always regret buying cheap powders and nail polish as I never wear them. I also buy scented face wipes because their cheap and they smell awful! No high end mistakes just yet.

4. Can you tell us your biggest fashion faux pas?
On my 'tired' days at college I tend to wear comfy clothes that take no effort and hardly any make up. I hate that I do but I just love my bed lots some days.

5. What is your poison?
I hate to say it but Vodka Redbulls, yuck how un-classy! However I do enjoy cheeky vimtos which is port and vodka, they taste great!

6. How long on average does it take you to get ready?
Anywhere between an hour to two. Depending what I have to do. A day where I make effort with my clothes and make up will take me about an hour (and a half at the most.)

7. Tea or coffee?
Sorry to say but neither! I haven't grown up that much yet, I do enjoy a rather nice hot chocolate though.

8. What are your opinions on surgery?
No way for cosmetic purposes. The only type of surgery I will ever consider is laser eye treatment. Yes in some ways it's cosmetic and yes I'm unsure whether I want it, some days I just love my glasses a lot.

9. Do you have/want tattoos?
I would love a tattoo, I already have on in the works for when I turn 18 this October which will be a dream catcher on my ankle. I also have plenty more planned!

10. Do you prefer statement shoes or a statement bag?
Statement bag all the way!! I could not live without my collection of bags. However the same could be said for my shoes. Well I'd rather wear a lovely pair of flats and have a gorgeous flashy bag than heels.

11. Do you have a favourite part of 2012?
This is going to sound terribly soppy and such but meeting and then falling for my now boyfriend who is called Tom. We got together Valentine's day last year so it's looming on our year anniversary. ♡

I would love to see
Natalie @youralmostalice
Vicki @victoriajanex
Vicky @daily-hoot

And here are my questions for you!
1. What is your favorite brand and why?
2. What is the story behind your blog name?
3. One of your pet hates.
4. What do you prefer, your shoe or bag collection?
5. What is your favorite lipstick that you own? (pictures please ladies! ^.^ )
6. What is your favorite meal to eat out? (if you could totally pig out)
7. Are you a morning or a night person?
8. Describe your perfect date.
9. Your favorite post to read about from a blogger.
10. What/who inspired you to blog?
11. What is one thing you'd like to do in 2013?

Apologies in advance for those awful questions, it's just so hard to be creative sometimes. I really enjoyed writing this post and I hope you all do too. If you've not been tagged and do this anyway, drop me a link below I'd love to check out everyone's answers!

FOTD - Time For College!

(Excuse my dodgy bloodshot eyes, my contact lenses are a pain!)

Face
The Body Shop Foundation SPF 15 in Shade 03.
Collection 2000 Pressed Powder in Porcelain (on top of the foundation).

Eyes
Collection 2000 Extreme Felt Liner in Black.
Avon Super Extend Mascara in Black.
Soap & Glory's Thick and Fast Mascara in Black.

Lips
MUA Intense Colour Lip Liner in Red Drama.
Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in Shade 01.

I don't tend to make this much effort with my make up very much due to hurting contact lenses and not enough time in a morning. However yesterday I didn't start till half 10 so I thought I'd give my full face a go as well as dressing to impress. A normal day is a creamy mousse foundation with a slight use of powder (my skin likes to go very dry some days!) with minimal eye make up normally resulting in mascara and a little eye shadow and lip balm.

Yesterday I thought I'd branch out back to my old ways and delve into my red lipstick and vintage flicks! This is one of my favorite make up looks ever, I just feel ever so classy. I also used my favorite lipstick by Kate Moss (seriously they are fab try them out!) which I adore but sadly my boyfriend doesn't. I always enjoy days more when I've got a bit more make up on, feels like I've really made and effort and I enjoy putting my make up on, it's a shame I hate taking it off.

Do you have a favorite make up look?

january's empties

Now I don't have many empties to show you this month as I dived right into my new Christmas stash so everything is pretty much full! Also I tend to use lots of different products so using up a full bottle of product is a small achievement for me.

Soap & Glory Mist You Madly Body Spray
One of my must have products. I love the smell of this, it's girly and fresh and I just adore it. I have about 2 bottles of this stashed. Definitely something I would repurchase!

Collection 2000 Pressed Powder - Shade Ivory
This settles nicely on the top of my foundation and never makes my skin look dry. It's wonderful for a quick cover up and I always repurchase.

Collection 2000 Big Fake Lashes
One of my favorite ever mascaras, always makes my lashes look huge and nicely shaped. I would repurchase but I don't think shops really stock it anymore, such a shame.

9 1/2 Winks Mascara
This is an okay mascara but it does tend to clump my lashes together a little bit and it's not enjoyable taking it off at the end of the day. I would not repurchase.

Collection 2000 Extreme Felt Eyeliner
This stuff seems to last for ages, never smudges and goes on perfectly. One of my must haves for winged eyeliner. I always repurchase.

Redken Smooth Lock Shampoo & Condition (samples)
I only had one use out of these so I can't really judge. My hair after use did feel nice and soft and shiny but I'm not really up to buying expensive shampoo, I would not repurchase.

Young Skin & St Ives Facial Wipes
I like unscented wipes and the Young Skin ones did everything I needed and my skin felt great, However the St Ives ones didn't feel all that great for my face and I didn't enjoy using them.

Soft & Gentle Deodorant
Their scents are always amazing and do their job right. I would always repurchase and I love their lingering smells.

Wow as you can see I really like Collection 2000..
Maybe I should branch out into a new brand, any recommendations? :)

let is snow!

If you currently live in the UK you're probably sick of seeing the snow. I know I am! It does look all pretty while you're all comfy in bed or on the sofa with a good movie on TV and a hot chocolate. Not so good when you're out and about it and silly little kids chuck snow balls, nuh uh. However the other day I did seem something that sure did brighten my day despite being surrounded by snow.
Someone living very near me decided to make a cat out of snow. It's just so cute I don't want it to melt. It really did make me smile.

the lady with ruby lips

Everyone seems to be going mad for Kate Moss' lipsticks and I am part of that crowd! I love red lipstick, there's no doubt about it. However I disliked the fact all the ones I've bought have always been quite shiny and tend to rub off and make my lips feel greasy. So when Kate brought out her Matt collection as well as the normal collection I just had to get my mitts on one!
The shade I bought was 01 and it goes on like a dreeeeam. Plus how gorgeous is the packaging! I just want all of them. Out of all the lipsticks I've bought up to date this is by far my favorite and the one I'm mostly likely to recommend. However I haven't bought a MAC lipstick yet so we shall wait and see!

What's your favorite lipstick?

Les Misérables

Over the course of last week I went to see this film not only once but twice! I tell you what, I genuinely can't get over how good it was. The casting was fabulous. I didn't know what to expect going in as I didn't know the story and I didn't realize musical meant all singing and now talking. I was blown away. Each character was strong within their own way and each had their own story to tell. Yes I shed a tear, quite a few actually but it was worth it. All of the cast in my opinion could sing to a point and they were amazing. How surprised me the most was Russell Crowe and Hugh Jackman, both of their performances were outstanding as were the rest of the casts.

I haven't seen this in theater yet but me and my mum are hopefully planning a trip down to London for it this year. If you haven't already seen it please do, it is so worth the nearly 3 hour running time. Ann Hathaway really did make this song something.

hello instagram 14

1. Snow day // 2. Round 1 of Le Mis // Graze box mmh! // 3. 40 discs of friends = £25 well spent! // 4. Round 2 of Le Mis, still amazing! // 5. Well earnt take away // 6. OOTD for college // 6. New books and goodies // 7. Docs are always the best in snow.

It's been a hectic week what with all the snow and coursework which is why there has been lack of posts. I'd look out the window at all the snow and decide 'snuggles with Tom are just so much better' and that's what I'd do.

What have you been up to this week?

lush - melting snowman

Like many other girlies out there for Christmas I got a gorgeous inspired Lush boxset which was to die for, it smelt wonderful. Inside I received;
The Melting Snowman!
Now I could smell this baby as soon as I opened the box, he smelt wonderful. I can't quite put my finger on it but to me it smelt spicy and cosy, it reminded me just a little bit of home.

Lush Says..
"Melt this spicy hot toddy snowman into your bath for a magical moisturizing soak."

And that it was. It made the water feel all soft and kinda comfortable but also the smell, it stayed until I got out and it smelt wonderful, that added to the melt itself. It made me feel relaxed and cosy and it just smelt wonderful. Also it gave the bath a kind of yellow-ish tinge which just reminded me of Autumn.
My favorite thing is that afterwards my skin felt soften and almost relaxed. Not only did this bath melt smell gorgeous and work very well it also looked adorable. I know for definitely I'll be picking this up at Christmas, it's all you could want in a bath melt and the smell lingers, nothing better!

Have you tried the Melting Snowman for Lush's Christmas range?

things that made me happy this week

Lots of things always make me happy during the week and I never really document them so hopefully I keep this post going every week. It will probably include personal things and things I find on the web. Enjoy! :)

I love when moments like this get captured on film. I always wonder what became of the people in them.. I bet they wouldn’t have guessed that half a century later people would still be admiring them. And think how important that kiss must have been to the both of them, to go to all the trouble. I hope to be kissed with such fervor someday. And I hope they made it.

Yep, crying.
Pictures like these, one day.

My boyfriend's mum gave me these to keep my feet warm at their house, cutest slippers I've ever been bought!

This stuff is wonderful! It smells great and feels great, this sample will be gone in no time!

Tom bought me flowers and they had a surprise Lilly in them, they are gorgeous.

I've been waiting for my contact lenses for while now, goodbye glasses! (at least for a little while..)

My money saving pot arrived, it's going to be so heartbreaking when I smash it open, it's so cute!

I feel I've had quite a brilliant week, can't be bad for the start of a new year. I've been getting back into Pinterest a lot recently since getting my tablet so if you want to follow just take a look here, everything is just so wonderful on there!

What's made you happy this week?

a new year, a new skincare rountine

It's been a while since I shared my skincare routine with you all and I thought with a new year I should make a new routine. I wanted something quick and easy for morning but also I wanted to try out all my new products I received from Christmas (there's a lot..) There isn't much here overall but I have college everyday so I wanted something quick for the morning as well as for nights because I sometimes have late shifts at work and I just want my bed!
Now I always start my routine after washing my hair.
I kick off with Soap and Glory's Face Soap & Clarity face wash, not only does the smell amazing but it also helps to get rid of any make up from the night before. Afterwards to make sure my skin is make up free I run over my face with some wipes. I then moisturize my face with Botanics Ultra Skin Calming Day Cream, not only does this stuff smell great it also makes my skin feel refreshed and clean. To top it all of I continually use Asda's own lip balm during the day and Soap & Glory's Hand Food which is a thick mixture but makes my hands feel soft, amazing and smell wonderful. Normally in a morning as well as applying make up and doing my hair this routine takes me about 25 minutes max, perfect for a college morning.
As you can see my night routine is a little bigger and does vary. I use a lot of product on my skin on a night normally to either take my make up off and remove any grease/oil from being at work, it makes my skin feel terrible! I always kick off my routine after a bath filled with bubbles.

I tend to start off with Soap & Glory's Peaches & Clean Cleansing Milk, now this product is slightly odd for a face product, it smells nice but doesn't really lather up when applied, it still does work rather nicely. Then depending on my day, I get rid of any extra dirt/oil on my face with Boot's own cleanser & toner along with cotton wool pads. I then apply Botanics Ultra Skin Calming Night Cream, it makes my skin feel refreshed after a long day at work/college and it feels so clean, the cream contains 'marshmallow' which smells divine! Then to top it all off for the rest of my skin I use my favorite body butter which is Soap & Glory's own Righteous Body Butter, it's a thick mixture with a smell to die for, it takes a while to sink in but leaves my skin as smooth as a baby's bottom!

I know my routine isn't full of high end luxury products but I'm happy with what I use and the effect everything has on my skin. I love Soap & Glory products because they always seem well suited to my skin.

What products are included in your daily routine?

jar full of memories... ♡

I've jumped on the bandwagon and decided to buy a jar and fill it with all my good memories for the year, then open it on new years day with my boyfriend. Now I think this is a wonderful idea, I love remembering stuff from the past year but I always tend to forget the small details and it makes me a little sad. So when I saw this flying around peoples blogs I just knew I had to have one! Now I didn't have a candle jar however I bought this preserving jar off amazon for under a £5! I then used a ribbon from a Lush box set to tie around the body bit of the jar and made my own little sticker for the top. Now it doesn't look perfect I know but I feel it's just perfect for this coming year.
